Hello,
I am Isha Likhite
I am a Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University, specializing in innovative design and sustainability. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai, where I built a strong foundation in Solid Mechanics and Mechanical Systems, with interests in Additive Manufacturing, Optimization, and Machine Learning.
My thesis, guided by Prof. Robert Shepherd, focuses on biomimetic hydrofoils, enhancing hydrodynamic efficiency through advanced fluid dynamics. Previously, under Dr. Nilesh Raykar, I led the NITYA: Futuristic Surface Cleaning Roboat project, designing an eco-friendly watercraft with autonomous navigation and an innovative waste collection system.
Through internships at Applied Materials and Larsen & Toubro, I gained expertise in designing thin-film deposition tools and aerospace components for India’s Gaganyaan Mission, respectively. Additionally, I explored additive manufacturing technologies at Master Nidavellir AeroMed Pvt. Ltd.
As Captain of SPCE W.A.V.E., under Dr. R. S. Maurya, I contributed to innovative RC aircraft designs. I also researched bulk lithography with Dr. Kiran Bhole and founded the IEEE SPCE student chapter, fostering innovation and collaboration.
Beyond academics, I am a passionate Rotaractor, addressing global issues like climate change and education. Driven by perseverance and creativity, I aspire to integrate engineering with sustainability to tackle pressing global challenges and create lasting impact.
